Exclusive: 11 Honoré Designs Adidas Plus-Size Activewear Line – Harper’s BAZAAR

The list of plus-size clothing brands worth shopping has a new addition in activewear, one that isn’t just for the gym.
BAZAAR. com can exclusively reveal Adidas tapped 11 Honoré for a performance activewear capsule in sizes 1X–4X, available now. It’s the first collection Adidas has released for plus sizes and plus sizes only. And, no, it’s not limited to another black matching set in stretch fabric.
The 14 pieces range from a corset sports bra finished with supportive sheer mesh to a body-hugging onesie partially woven with recycled materials (YSL fall/winter 2022, but make it sporty). Athleisure classics like a French terry sweat suit and matching sets within earth-tone patterns round out the collection.
Combining teams along with expertise in all things performance technology (Adidas) plus years of fit know-how perfected for extended dimensions (11 Honoré) mean this collection is as functional as it is mirror-selfie worthy. Two associated with Adidas’s proprietary fabrics, Formotion and Aeroready, are used throughout the pieces for sculpted silhouettes and breathable, movement-complementing fits.
Hien Nguyen, Adidas senior designer with regard to sports partnerships, adds that every piece was wear-tested and reiterated until both teams could call it their best. “We wanted to create a collection that drives confidence within movement plus makes sport accessible to more women, ” Nguyen tells us. “Women shouldn’t have to compromise, and we hope this particular collection offers stylish support no matter the activity. ”
In other words? This is extended-size activewear that isn’t just graded up from standard sizes—it was designed regarding larger bodies first.
The general sportswear market is somehow still catching up to demand for more activewear in more sizes. (Any body can be a yoga, cardio, Pilates, or all-the-activities body after all. ) With so few options out there, 11 Honoré founder Patrick Herning says this collection is another long-awaited opportunity to give more ladies more access to fashion, period. “By partnering with Adidas on their first-ever specifically inclusive selection, we’re working to make sportswear more accessible for dimensions 1XL in order to 4XL. We want to make sure that this customer and woman has options, and that doesn’t stop at traditional luxury fashion, inch he states.
And even if one can wear the collaboration’s new leggings and sports bras everywhere, we’ll take more inclusive luxury when we can too.
